Yesterday I read "Phantom of the Opera". Though it would be more correct to say that I forced myself to read it. I don't know why, maybe it's because I already saw the performance and I knew roughly what happens, but I didn't like it too much. It was quite interesting and I couldn't help but think somewhere in the back of my mind that maybe it was somehow based on real events even though I knew it's only fiction, but this book irritated me nevertheless. I swear if I hear one more time about "pure, naive, innocent, sweet child with an angel's voice" I'll puke. Or bite. The main heroine was pathetic - completely devoid of any intelligence and your typical damsel in distress - she didn't struggle at all and just fainted and cried when something happened. And her beloved wasn't any better - it was told in the book "that he didn't lack courage", but I didn't exactly notice him displaying any of it. If you asked me, I'd rather say he seemed like to be a spineless coward. And all that gabbing about him being so miserable, because, oh, oh, he loved and wasn't loved in return and all his dillemas were infuriating.
I know that it was written at the start of the XX century, but come on. I was expecting quite a lot from this book and it disappointed me.

Before "Phantom" I read the second part of the third volume of "A song of Ice and Fire" and now I can only wish for more <33 (I hope my wish will come true when I go to Warsaw during those winter holidays ^^)

I'm still watching One Piece and I'm already at the 84 episode and I'm watching the next in a few minutes. ^^ I love this series <3 It's just so much fun. ^^
And I did read several Zoro x Sanji/Sanji x Zoro doujinshi, but it's like I thought it would be - sure, some yaoi is nice, but their original relations, even though platonic,
are just so much better and more awesome than searching by force for any romance. Generally, I love interactions between the characters in One Piece <3

And Today I'm going to start reading "Blondynka Tao" by Pawlikowska. ^^

Also today we have an annual visit by a priest from our church~ Does anyone know how it's called in English? XD

Oh, I do see your point here :/ I seriously hate the "cute sweet damsels in distress" that many writers seem to love oh-so-muchly (probably because they are easy to write ;) ). And let's not forget that most of the male readers enjoy pretty cute little princesses. There is nothing that pisses me off more than stereotypical charas. And I'm not talking only about the female ones. Pretty emo bishes without parents/with broken hearts? Manly warriors w/o brain? Noooo thanks.

And that's why I love "The Master and Margarita" written by M. Bulgakov <3 Margarita is amazing, she's such a strong, passionate woman *.* You'll read it durning your third year in high school, it's one of my favourite books <3

Truth to be told, I've never heard about the "Song of Ice and Fire" (but then, I'm not the best informed reader ever |D;). Could you tell me more about it? :3 I wonder if it's something that would interest me XD

... Oh lawl, I have no idea. And the sad thing is, I know how you could say that in German but not in English XDD And I suck at speaking German. LOTS.

I hate it as well and I didn't like Christine too much when I saw the performance, but I didn't think she would be much much worse in the book. Especially, because it was Phantom of the Opera - everyone heard of that one way or another and it turned out a great disappointemnt for me.
And I'm not sure if even men could enjoy poor, little sweet Christine. XD

I heard once it was overrated, but I guess I'll have to find out myself. ^^

ASoIaF is epic (realistic) fantasy about struggle for power and reign. I suck at describing anything, but I wrote once a lousy and lame attempt at describing it and I doubt I would do any better now, so here you are. It's one of my favourite - if not the most - books and I love it to pieces. Once I start reading it I can't get away. xD I'm usually not a big fan of fantasy, but this book is a must, it's simply brilliant.

And how would it go in German? XD

I've never seen the performance, but I suppose they changed her character to fit it to the modern standards? I mean, over-wimpy-ness isn't something that appeals to the crowds anymore...

Haha, I do know a boy who enjoys cute lame princesses with large boobs, so... XD

Overrated? Well, it takes some intelligence to really enjoy the book, because it has a lot refences to the ol' not-so-good life in the former CCCP. It's full of amazing characters, though, and the narration is superb *v*

Ooo, so it's a fantasy novel! I do love adventure stuff set in the world of epic fantaaasyyyyy~~ XD I guess I'll check it out sooner or later then, since we seem to have similar preferences <3 (at least when it comes to anime XD)

In German? XD Der Pastoralbesuch~~!

You know, not really, but maybe with all that music, scenery, atmosphere and all the rest it's not so striking.

...Now if I read it and don't understand it, I'll think I'm stupid, thanks. XD

Check it out, yes, yes~ It's really worth it. But to be fair - it can be a little hard to get your hands on.

...I'm so happy I quit German XD

... That would also explain why some animes are watchable while the corresponding mangas are not XD;

Oh come on, I didn't mean it in THAT way XD It's quite easy to understand, really XD

Okay, I'll try. And it's on sale on empik.com, so I think I'll just order it online XD I have an epikstore in my city, so I can get it pretty quickly without getting involved with our lovely Poczta Polska :/

Hahaha, I know what you mean, I don't like German either XD

And what does explain unwatchable animes and great mangas? XD

Yeah, sure XD

It wasn't on empik.com (and there's no empikstore in my town either) when I wanted to buy it ;;

German is rather awful. I like only English XD

How can they ;; XD

Personally I don't find it anything that one has to "survive". XD And we got one of my fave priests, too <3 But I'm just a little bit glad that he didn't go to my room XD
